For some reason this(del.icio.us) simple yet powerful concept has not yet taken the (net) world by storm. I guess its just waiting for some tipping point.
Having your book marks online is a big deal. It not only makes life easier, but also tells the world what nugget you found on the net today. What link you have squirreled away with the feeling that this might be useful. If you think about it, thats amazing. I would love to know what interesting things my friends have found today. A very simple concept and very powerful at the same time.
Besides there are tons of tools that are building up around del.icio.us to make maximum use of it.
Trying to see if I can think up of anything useful I can do with it. Like a ticker or something.
And if you think bookmarking is a pain. Well there are some awesome extensions that you get with FireFox which make book marking a page onto del.icio.us even easier.

a big part of the problem is the name. it has grown on me, but i heard references to it tons of times and kept thinking that anything with that name must be spam before I actually checked it out.
And I tried to tell a friend about it verbally and had to literally repeat myself 10 times and explain that that is a valid domain name.
that app is clever and simple, the name is clever and confusing.

This is the service (free) that I have been using. They went down for a while claiming this will go open source so I was looking it up as a reference but just delighted to see it is back!
